About us

Welcome to St John the Baptist Church of England Primary School. We are a voluntary aided school situated in Hoxton, London. Our school serves a wide area, which consists of privately owned and local authority properties. Our school was founded in the middle of the 19th century by a partnership between St John the Baptist Church and the National Society for Schools. We continue to have close links with the church; and church members play a major role in the day-to-day life of the school.

Pupils come from the local community, which is an inner city area, mostly in the borough of Hackney. St John the Baptist school aims to provide a safe, friendly learning environment in which expectations are high; where all children and adults are valued and respected. We also offer a broad and balanced curriculum in which each child can maximise their potential.
