SJB 2017 SATs Information

In 2016, there were many changes to the statutory assessment for Year 2 and Year 6. The Department of Education has confirmed that the 2016 interim arrangements for SATs will stay in place for 2017. 

During one of our Parent Coffee Mornings, we focused on the SATs and how to prepare for them. If you could not make it for the session, click here for a copy of the power point presentation. Look out for more SATs coffee morning dates on our Events page. There will be a Year 6 SATs Parents Evening on Thursday 30th March from 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm. 

Year 6 Easter SATs Sessions

During the first week of the Easter Holidays, the school will be holding Maths and Grammar Booster sessions. The sessions will run from Monday 3rd April – Friday 7th April,  from 10 am – 12pm. If you would like your child to attend, please fill out a permission slip in the school office. 

Year 6 SATs 

Year 6 SATs will commence from Monday 8th May until Thursday 11th May. The school is offering free breakfast for every Year 6 student during the SATs. Breakfast will start from 8:00 am. All children need to be on time every morning to ensure they do not miss their test. 

The Year 6 / KS2 tests will follow a strict timetable as follows:

  • Monday 8th May 2017 – English Reading Test
  • Tuesday 9th May 2017 – English, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Paper 1: Spelling and English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Paper 2: Questions
  • Wednesday 10th May 2017 – Mathematics Paper 1: Arithmetic and Mathematics Paper 2: Reasoning 
  • Thursday 11th May 2017 – Mathematics Paper 3: Reasoning

Year 2 SATs

This year, the Year 2 / KS1 tests take place during May 2017. Please note, Year 2 pupils will be taking the Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar test (which was cancelled last year).
