Fujitsu Hour of Code

Coding is a key part of a child’s education. As a technology company, Fujitsu wanted to share their technical knowledge with primary aged pupils. On Thursday 10th December 2015 Fujitsu ran an Hour of Code session at The Bridge Academy with year 5 and 6 pupils from St John the Baptist Primary School. The children were part of a coding club held weekly at The Bridge Academy. The children already had a basic knowledge of coding so Fujitsu built on what the children had already learnt by helping them to put coding into context with some real world examples.

The children were fascinated to hear about coding in the computers that put man on the moon, which were more basic than a modern-day toaster, and were amazed to hear how Fujitsu are growing lettuce in an old computer factory!
