Mathemagicians & Snozzcumbers
It’s been a busy few weeks at SJB with lots of learning going on. The whole school has been reading Roald Dahl. KS1 are reading “The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me”and KS2 have been reading “The BFG” for their SfA lessons. KS2 are enjoying trying to decipher the many words invented by Roald Dahl in the BFG, such as snozzcumbers and scrumdiddlyumptious. Year 3 re-told a part of the story and added their own twist during their writing lessons; Year 4 and Year 5 are using their giant BFG ears to help them listen better; and Year 1 wrote letters to their favourite character in “The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me” asking them about their likes and dislikes. Also we had Elm Tree class perform a fun assembly, reciting poems from “Revolting Rhymes” by Roald Dahl.
There has also been some amazing Maths learning going on. All the teachers and students are hard at work learning about multiplication, money and place value. Jordan in Maple did a fantastic piece of homework on triangles!
