Visit from Deputy Mayor of Hackney

Yesterday we were very happy to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Hackney, Councillor Bramble, into our school. The School Council took her on a tour of the school to show her the improvements made like the roof and football pitch. They sat down and talked to Councillor Bramble about the Safer Streets Scheme and how the school council are campaigning for a Crossing Patrol Officer for the zebra crossing on Crondall Street. She invited them to come to her office at Hackney Town Hall once the petition had been completed and they had the opportunity to ask her questions.

After meeting with the council, Councillor Bramble spoke to the whole school about her childhood in Hackney and about opportunities and experiences she had while growing up. She also spoke about how children can stay safe in the community.
