World Book Day

Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day, an exciting day celebrating the love of reading.
It was so exciting to see all the children dressed up as their favourite book char-acter. The SJB staff joined in as well by dressing up as characters from Dr Seuss’s ‘The Lorax’. There were also priz-es handed out to children with the most interesting and original costumes. There were some amazingly creative costumes. Well done to Maame, Samuel, Regan, Lenasce, Charlie, Heja, Hivda & Chayse!
Our day was full of book day activities. In the morning, the staff held an as-sembly where they performed ‘The Lorax’ for the children. Then, throughout the day, the whole school took part in ‘drop it and read’ where everyone had to drop everything they were doing when they heard an air-horn and read a book for 7 minutes. At the end of the day, classes swapped teachers to have a story read to them before the end of school. We also hope you are enjoying the new book that every child in our school received.
